Carried Over

2025

Carried Over gather’s stories from my father’s side; tracing what is passed down, what is set aside and what endures. Each piece holds a story of inheritance, and together they reflect on the ordinary ways necessity and desire shape the intergenerational life.

Tŷ Canol

C-Type Print

Inside the family farmhouse, a framed painting of another ancestral home hangs as a tribute to a place now known only in part. The past is suspended, leaving us to imagine those it once sheltered. In that layering, we find wonder in the lives that came before and in how they continue to shape those of today.

A Tourist in St Davids

Oil on Card

A self-portrait in a St Davids café. Two coffees rest on the table; one before me, one before you. An imported pause set against an old home.

A Letter From Gran

Pen on Card

A letter recalling my great-grandfather’s art scholarship, never taken. Fifty years in the steelworks followed instead. A life shaped by necessity, the pull of creativity left in the margins.

Dance of a Real Dream

Oil on Canvas

An abstract oil painting where dreams rise and reality grounds. The composition holds their negotiation: One pulling to weight, the other to lift, each shaping the other’s form.

Between Jobs

C-Type Print

My father, laptop open to the 9-5, while laying stone on the farm wall. Two forms of work overlap here: the required, and the passion - the compromises endures.
