Oscar Arnold, who works under the name Arno, is a Swansea-based artist whose practice is rooted in a desire and search for understanding. His work explores questions of identity, culture and belonging, inviting viewers to pause, observe and consider their own evolving stories. This practice is shaped by a balance of the personal and the collective: drawing from his own experiences while opening space for wider reflection on the forces that shape who we are.
He grew up in Gower, where his family had moved away from active farming when he was young. While they no longer work the land, the farmhouse and fields remain his home, shaping his early sense of place and inspiring the direction of his practice.
Alongside exhibiting locally, Arno has worked with galleries and collaborative projects across the UK.
